The community life team led by Dawn Sewell and Rachael Atkinson have arranged great events on Littlemoor over many years including Fun days, Easter/Halloween/Christmas parties and resident trips out to Chessington and Longleat to name a few.  One area the team have been looking at is the development of activities for local residents and the opportunity to link up with Redlands FC is a great opportunity to bring organised football back to the estate.

Redlands FC focus initiatives in the area will include

*Delivery of twice weekly low cost football sessions for children from the estate from school years 1-6. This will be open to boys and girls of all abilities ensuring that children can have access to football with no barriers on transport and cost ensuring we deliver a sustainable legacy.

*A Coach education programme where the club will be identify suitable adults who would like to get involved by becoming coaches and helpers. All volunteers would then be given the opportunity to undertake coaching workshops.

*Womens football looking to deliver coaching sessions to older girls and women in the area in order to improve both physical health and social interaction. The newly appointed Redlands FC Director of Football and Coaching John Godbold commented, “We are pleased to be working closely with Big 4 Littlemoor to use football as a way to engage as many people in the area as possible.  Littlemoor has a history of producing talented footballers and we look forward to playing our part in developing this untapped potential. We are also keen on developing coaches in the area and will be offering an exciting coach education programme to get adults involved. Finally we will also be looking to deliver regular older girls and ladies football coaching to increase participation”
